Experience the quintessential Colorado evening. Let the Steamboat Gondola whisk you to a waiting sleigh that draws you underneath starry skies to Ragnar's. Enjoy a five-course continental cuisine dinner with a Scandinavian flavor and live acoustic entertainment. Ragnar's Sleigh Ride Dinners are offered Friday through Sunday nights and additional holiday evenings only. Children ages 5 and under are not recommended. Reservations required. Holiday pricing may vary. Groups over 25 call 970-871-5162 for reservations. In the case of extreme weather, the Gondola may have to be closed for evening on-mountain dining activity. If this is the case, rescheduling or refunds will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Hours

Ragnar's offers evening dining Friday through Sunday from December 19, 2008 through March, with additional holiday evenings. The approximate time for this event is 6:00pm - 10:15pm. Holiday times may vary.

Location

Ragnar's is located at the Rendezvous Food Court and is accessed by riding the Steamboat Gondola, which is included in the price of the meal, and then by a snowcat drawn sleigh ride to the Rendezvous Food Court.

Elk River Guest Ranch offers a progressive horse drawn sleigh ride dinner.  Drinks and hors d’oeuvres are served upon arrival in the Elk River Guest Ranch’s Silhouette Saloon followed by a magical sleigh ride to the tepees for dinner. Tepees have a central warming fire surrounded by overstuffed couches and chairs. Lighting is a warm blend of candlelight and oil lamps. After dinner, guests are treated to another sleigh ride back to the saloon for dessert and after dinner drinks.

Menu

NY strip steak, Salmon Filet, Roasted Duck or Herb Herb Roasted Chicken. Dinners include fresh baked bread w/herb butter, garlic roasted potatoes, green beans, Caesar salad and sautéed mushrooms; followed by gourmet coffee & dessert. Full service cash bar is available, please do not bring alcohol.

Location

For the Tepee Sleigh Ride Dinner and private Sleigh Ride Dinner, the Elk River Guest Ranch will pick guests up at their lodging location. It’s approximately a 30 minute drive up to the ranch, 17 miles North of Steamboat Springs. The Elk River Guest Ranch will call to confirm pick-up times the night before or the morning of the scheduled event. Please provide a cell or local telephone number so that they can reach you.

For the Afternoon Sleigh Ride and Private Sleigh Ride, guests must provide their own transportation.

The earliest pick-up time is 4:15 p.m. Please call the Elk River Guest Ranch to confirm your reservation, pick-up time and menu choices 48 hours in advance.

Saddleback Ranch

Saddleback Ranch is an 8,000 acre fourth generation family owned an operated working cattle ranch. Saddleback ranch is pleased to offer two Sleigh Ride options for you and your family. There is nothing quite as peaceful as taking a sleigh ride at night with the only sounds being the horses walking through the snow, the bells jingling on the harness and the distant howl of a coyote. Relax, cuddle up with a nice warm wool blanket (provided), and take a look at the stars and the moon's light making the snow glisten like diamonds.

Dinner Sleigh Ride

It's a 40 minute ride to the Double Dollar Lodge, you will be greeted with a warm cup of hot chocolate or hot apple cider and the smell of delicious home-cooked meal During dessert, listen to some old-fashioned entertainment. After dessert, let us teach you how to calf rope. You're sure to have a great time! It's a very family friendly experience! Guests are required to call Saddleback Ranch at upon arrival in Steamboat to confirm Dinner Menu and pick-up location.

Menu

Your choice: New York Strip Steak, Marinated & Grilled Pork Tenderloin, Garlic Salmon or Teriyaki Chicken. Cowboy Baked Beans, Potatoes, Mixed Salad, Warm Homemade Bread. Dessert is Chef's choice (some examples being: brownies, chocolate cherry cake, peach crisp, strawberry-rhubarb dessert or bread pudding with a vanilla sauce. All are homemade and very tasty!) Hot chocolate, Hot Apple Cider, Cowboy Coffee, Lemonade and Water. A kids menu is available for children 5 & under with a choice of a hot dog or a hamburger. Beer and wine may be purchased by the bottle.

Location

Saddleback Ranch provides front door transportation to and from the ranch in brand new luxury vans. Saddleback Ranch is located just outside of Milner, a 15 mile drive from Steamboat Springs. If you wish to drive to the ranch, take HWY 40 West out of Steamboat 10 miles. At mile marker 122 take a left onto county road 178, which will turn into County Road 179. Follow County road 179, 3miles across the rail road tracks, over the river and pass a housing development, the ranch is on the left side of the road.

Pick-up time for the Dinner Sleigh Ride is 5:15pm and you will return to your condo at approximately 9:30pm.

Enjoy a leisurely, comfortable, sleigh ride, nestled in warm blankets, gliding through the unforgettable, quiet beauty of the Yampa Valley with your choice of a tasty home-cooked western steak, chicken, or trout dinner prepared and served at a heated site on the trail.  You may bring your own alcohol, if desired, as none will be provided.

Location

 Four miles northwest of Old Town Steamboat. From there, you will ride into a secluded glen on Deer Mountain to a large tent nestled in an Aspen grove.   

Hours

Meet the yellow school bus at the Gondola Square transit center at 6:00pm (pick-up time for all sleigh ride dinners including Christmas Eve and New Years Eve).  A very short bus ride will take you to Sunset Ranch.  Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.

Windwalker Tours

Horse drawn sleigh ride along the Yampa River

WindWalker Tours offers a 40-minute horse drawn sleigh ride pulled by Percheron Draft Horses that will take you along the banks of the Yampa River and back to a cozy log cabin. Warm blankets will be provided to keep you warm and comfortable during the ride.

Menu

Your choice of Mesquite Grilled RibEye Steak, Mesquite Grilled Chicken, or Vegetable Lasagne. Dinners will include a baked potato with sour cream and butter, ranch style cowboy's beans, fresh baked ranch rolls, and homemade frosted brownies for dessert. Beverage choices include hot cocoa, hot tea, hot apple cider, and Cowboy Coffee. You are welcome to bring your own alcohol. 

Location

Go east approximately 2.5 miles on Highway 40 to Highway 131. Turn right onto Highway 131 and head south for approximately 4 miles. Our cabin is on the left-hand side of the road at the Yampa River and Highway 131. Do not cross the bridge.

Sleigh Rides are offered at 1:00pm and Dinner Sleigh Rides at 4:30pm and 7:30pm. WindWalker Tours will provide roundtrip transportation from the Gondola Square Transit Center (7:30pm ride) or the Meadows Parking Lot (4:30pm ride). Please confirm your reservation time and menu choices 24 hours prior to your sleigh ride.

Sleigh Ride Options:

Afternoon Sleigh Ride - Sleigh ride only, without dinner.  Hot beverages will be served at the cabin.  Wildlife such as elk, deer, and eagles could be seen during the ride.  Please be ready to meet this ride at the Gondola Square Mountain Transit Center at 12:45pm.

Sleigh Ride with Dinner - This sleigh ride will be followed by dinner and live entertainment. Please be ready to meet this ride at the Lower Meadows parking lot by the tennis bubble at 4:30pm or at the Gondola Square Mountain Transit Center at 7:30pm.

Private Sleigh Ride - This sleigh ride comes with a private sleigh, champagne and a rose. Wildlife such as elk, deer, and eagles could be seen during the ride. Please be ready to meet this ride at the Gondola Square Mountain Transit Center at 2:30pm. Please ask to arrange for the Private Sleigh Ride at a different time of day, if necessary. Private sleigh rides will not be available December 24-31, 2008.

Private Sleigh Ride with Dinner - This sleigh ride comes complete with a private sleigh ride, dinner, live entertainment, champagne and a rose. Please be ready to meet this ride at the Lower Meadows parking lot by the tennis bubble at 4:30pm or at the Gondola Square Mountain Transit Center at 7:30pm. Private sleigh rides will not be available December 24-31, 2008.
