Location/Directions
The Iron Horse Resort is located near the western entrance to the Moffat Tunnel where
the first trains traveled under the Continental Divide in 1926. Before the Tunnel was
completed, trains came into Grand County over the mountains on the Moffat Road, a
railway route which is now an interesting hiking path not far from our Resort.
Iron Horse Resort is only 67 miles northwest of Denver, Colorado --- the closest
major resort to the city.
- Drive west of Denver on I-70 to Exit 232
- Take exit 232 and go north on U.S. 40
- It's 25 miles from the exit to Iron Horse
- Turn left on Winter Park Drive, marked by a large, colorful Winter Park Resort sign
- Proceed 1/4 mile to Iron Horse Drive, on your left.
